Babies B Good: Our Little Girl Turns ONE!

Last week we celebrated Sammie's first birthday -- my, how time flies! Although it seems like we've heard the pitter-patter of four little feet for many years, it really wasn't that long ago that I was pregnant with Sammie and awaiting her arrival! (If you'd like a refresher on how this sweet little girl flew into this world, click here for the post from her baby blog.) Sammie really is the sweetest little baby girl that I've ever known. She's an incredibly independent girl, yet she can't help but cuddle with her daddy every.chance.she.can. She loves to learn and watches examples from us and Matt, and is great at mimicking sounds she hears. One of the cute things she does is copy-cat a little tune we hum to her that Matt made up when he was about 15 months old. Sammie really is the perfect little girl for our family and you just can't help but smile when you see her little face and big eyes :) She's loved more than she'll ever know!

I "asked" Sam some questions that would let you, the reader, in on what kind of gal Sammie is now that's she's a big one year old. Here's what she wanted to share with you...

...her favorite word is "dada"
...her favorite song is anything she can shake to!
...she can: walk {and even "power walk"}; climb up onto the kids' table; "drive" her brother's car
...she likes to: dance; share her food; watch Matt play; steal her mom's water at mealtimes
...she has 8 teeth and getting one more
...her hair is getting curlier and her eyes are getting greener
...her favorite foods are: blueberries; Panera's Gouda and Sausage souffle; cheese; sweet tea
...she loves animals

We have her 1 year old check-up later this week, so we'll have to wait to see her height and weight. But I can go ahead and tell you what a tall little monkey she is!! ...wonder where she gets it from... hmmm... ;-)

Over the weekend we celebrated Sammie's birthday by having our family and a few friends over for lunch, drinks, and fun. I think everyone had a great time! The weather even stayed gorgeous so that we could spend some time outside. It was really a great day to celebrate our ~~little~~ big girl!!!
